Styles and their Meanings |

| Jazz | Often associated with musicals such as Chicago or Fame, modern Jazz is also the style used by pop stars such as Kylie Minogue, Madonna, and Britney Spears. It is a style used for concerts, opening ceremonies, music videos and competition. |
| Theatre Jazz | The style danced on Broadway! This is strong technique based choreography taken from musicals such as A Chorus Line, Chicago and West Side Story. |
| Lyrical | Show expressive, controlled movements with elements of Ballet and Jazz and emphasis on technique (floor / center/ adagio) |
| Contemporary | Similar to the style performed by the Sydney Dance Company - A blend of Ballet and Modern dance. It builds a strong center and combines precision legwork with ease and fluidity in the torso. It's artistic, creative and is a work of art and stands on it's own. |
| Classical Ballet | Provides a sound grounding in ballet positions and basic classical ballet movements. An excellent class for self-discipline, poise, deportment, style and grace. |
| Stretch | This class combines elements of Yoga and Pilates with stretch components particularly suited to dance. The aim is to develop core strength, ease and openness in the joints and flexible well balanced body. |
| Tap | For the aspiring Fred Astaires or Tap Dogs! A combination of old and modern freestyle used in the musical theatre performance. Our repertoire is taken from the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus (formerly Australian Contemporary Tap. A.C.T) |
| Boys Street beat Tap | A boys only class dedicated to the loud, raw sounds of the street! Taken from the G.W.T.S, it combines tapping with a little hip-hop and lots of fun! Ages from 6 years. |
| Theatrical Class | Take the one who practises their Academy Award speeches, or sings into their hair brush - fun innovative classes focusing less on traditional book work and theory and more on practical... a group class to gain confidence and self esteem, breathing and control. Some homework given to learn lines for plays or scripts and lyrics for songs, some scales and sheet work given, but more focus on the practical side - filming on camera, singing on microphones, producing musicals and pantomimes for the public to watch - it's all about FUN! |
| Acrobatics/Contortion | The focus is on floor and mat skills. Acrobatics requires your own efforts working on muscle toning, conditioning and flexibility. Unlike gymnastics, there is no apparatus or beam work involved. Instead the careful guidance and skills taught in both contortion and tumbling. |
